Go-Jack Auto Dolly
Anybody have experience with the GO Jack Auto combination jack/dolly? I am looking at the 6200 Model but interested in any comments regarding ease to use, problems, limits, etc... If there are better alternatives I would like to consider as well. I have limited space and need to move cars around by myself.

Re: Go-Jack Auto Dolly
I have the Model 6200 Go Jacks with storage rack and am very pleased with them! I recently used them to move a buddy's Olds wagon that weighs over 5,000 lbs. Was able to position the car in the garage using one hand. They are a bit pricey, but quality doesn't come cheap!

I've used them quite a bit in the repossession industry and have had nothing but good luck. I'm sure they will preform just as well for you.

Re: Go-Jack Auto Dolly
or...you could go with the Harbor Freight wheel dollies selling at $39.99 a pair and use your floor jack to jack up the axle and slide them underneath the wheels. This works quite well...they roll all directions and are not costly. Your call.

Re: Go-Jack Auto Dolly
I bought a set just like these from the manufacturer in Tennessee about 5 years ago. Although they're Go-Jacks they are very handy. You do need to jack the wheels off the floor to put these in place. With smooth floor you can push an A 1 finger if the are headed in the right direction. These aren't the Mickey Mouse Harbor Freight type that bend.

Re: Go-Jack Auto Dolly
I have both , the Go-Jak and a simuliar set from Harbor freight, yes Go-Jak's are expensive BUT GOOD... Harbor freight serve the purpose, not as elligant But good jacks and they serve the purpose, and I don't use a floor jack nearly as much anymore...Excellant tools to have in the shop...Jay

Re: Go-Jack Auto Dolly
Apparently there has been a problem with the pedal on the Go-Jack 6200. (Too costly?) The original was an alloy part like this. Easy to flip the large loop hold down over the entire pedal:
The new pedal is a shameful piece of sheet metal with a poor tread grip and an impossible to engage tiny little catch for the hold-down hook. When put to the real test, the front end of an F450 diesel, the new pedal flexes in a scary way. Interestlingly, the OLD pedal is still shown in all promo photos. |
