Smile What are these holes for?

Just wondering what these three holes are for in my RHD 35A? They are at the right hand side of the rear of the car. I have fender mounted stop lights.

Thanks

The change from body mounted tail lights to mudguard mounted tail lights was mid 1929 on RHD cars.

I kind of thought that tail lights were what the holes for. But as the fenders already had existing holes I decided to go with that. It must have been a tad difficult to see the tail light in that position though.

The bracket brought the light out to almost the same position as the fender mounted light.

RHD change over dates in the antipodes were up to six months behind USA LHD changes.

Vermin has them, also, a GREAT conversation feature! One guy used them to mount a bracket for his C.B. Antenna & another man used it for a FLAG mount

My Tudor was built in early March of '29. I have the teacup light on the fender and plugged holes in the body sill. I am pretty sure my car was around the time of the transition and the body holes are factory plugged while everything got sorted out.

My Tudor has a tank date of 2-23-29 and has the old style drum taillight.

...like this.

My Canadian built, Australian assembled phaeton has mounting points on both sides. Previous owner took advantage of this fact to install a second tail lamp on an original bracket. My car is dated June '28 on firewall.
