I have been using my Craftsman 4 1/2 grinder since the late 80s. And I use it in my business, meaning often and hard It started to show signs of brush problems . . so I just bought a new Craftsman. I still kept it though . . never know. I bet the new Craftsman won't last as long, but I sure like it.

I have a Makita 4" (getting real hard to find wire wheels) and a DeWalt 4 1/2". I love all my DeWalt tools. While my Makita has lasted many years I prefer the DeWalt. I have the larger DeWalt grinder too. That thing will tear you apart! Tons of power.

I have had good luck with older B&D's and now I have some Makita's. I believe they are the aluminum head style.

I built an entire jeep with a Harbor Freight one, if I didn't use them so often I would buy another, but they will fail you at some point. Mine the whole metal nose housing shattered.

Sears has a 19.2V cordless one I would love to try since my cordless tools are all Craftsman I would have multiple batteries.
