My trucks first home: Log Cabin Garage
While the family was visiting Odessa Mo. this weekend I slipped over to the Museum and found a different photo of the garage my "A" wrecker first called home. It wasn't in this view but there is an A.
The Sinclair rep sure did his job helping with signage. When I first acquired the body 7 years ago, a friend researched the door lettering that led us to the original owners son (his father pictured above). I was able to drive him in the old truck in trade for the story of it's history: purchasing it for the Log Cabin Garage, learning how to drive in the depression, war years followed by an post war interest in midget racing the transformed the car into a race hauler for his new endeavor "Mason Street" garage. He hadn't seen the truck since driving it to the local dismantler in '56. More pics to come. |
