Rearview Mirror Questions?
So this rear view mirror came with my 28 Roadster. It looks to be original and and correct (correct me if I am wrong). I am wondering a few things:
1). Is the body flat, semi gloss, or gloss black? 2). What screw size should be used? Finish? 3). What type of nuts should be used? Finish? 4). Are lockwashers used? 5). Anything other info. Thank you. |

Re: Rearview Mirror Questions?
The mirror shown looks to be a reproduction. The original mirror on the '28 open cars is different. The mounting bracket is one piece and wraps around the windshield. There are no separate mounting brackets at the top. this type was found on the 1229 and later vehicles. There was also a piece of fabric inserted between the glass and the bracket. The screws, and nuts were raven finished. Originals are plentiful if you are looking for authenticity.

Re: Rearview Mirror Questions?
IIRC, that looks similar to a Model T open car mirror.
