Two mystery parts?
I have two things on my 1929 CCPU that I am confused about.
The first is a hole at the bottom of the bell housing that has what looks like a cotter pin sticking out the bottom in a v shape about 1" long. The hole is about 3/16" diameter and is at the bottom dead center. Any idea what this or what the wires are sticking out? The second is a bolt on the floor board just to the right of the gas pedal. It looks like a 5/16" bolt that is loose and does not appear to connect to anything under the floor board. Any help you can give me on either of these would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Bob |

Re: Two mystery parts?
I say the hole is a drain hole incase your rear main leaks and next to the gas pedal was a foot rest with a rubber head like the pedal. (warning though, I'm new to the Model A too)

Re: Two mystery parts?
the cotter pin is in the hole to keep it open so any engine oil leaks find there way out. thats engineereing to insure your clutch doesnt take an oil bath.
