Default Books on Pickups?

I've been trying to find more information on my 37 pickup re: the cab. Some parts are missing on mine inside due to rust and or "customizing" in the past by others. Also some strange changes on the firewall. Is there a book on pickups along the lines of "The 1937 Ford Book" by the Early Ford V8 Club? Only one I've found is "Pickup Book" by Hil. Does anybody have it, recommend it, know of others?

Would appreciate your opinions.

Chris most of my books are more of a historical pictured timeline of the trucks from the tt to the current F150, the Mack Hils 32-52 is probably the best one for what your looking for.

Page 64 is a good production line cab of a 37, on pages 49-50 is a 35 but probably similar interior.

You are between Austin and San Antonio I'm will'in to bet there will be a few good car shows that you will find a few 37's, good luck.l

One of our members here was trying to get a book published with the EFV8 club but was turned down some years ago. The 1937 Ford pickup was a transition year so there are a lot of things on it that are different than the previous 35 & 36 commercial models. The 1938 evolution is also different but more similar to the later year models. This puts 1937 owners in a tight spot to get unique parts and information. Ford's publications are short on illustrations and the information is pretty basic.

The EFV8 club really needs a book on these but there are some folks that frequent here that may be able to help.

Well, if I have to go to a few car shows, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. Thanks for the help.

There's 6 pages devoted to the "37 in Mack Hils's book. The book "Ford Trucks Since 1905" by James K. Wagner has 12 packages devoted to the "37. I have no idea if they're still available. Good luck.

Just found one of Wagner's books on E-bay for $20, much better than the $200 for a new one. Thanks Rod47/RobR'35 for the advice. Hopefully it will show me what I need. If nothing else, should be interesting.

Hills books are very good. learned a few things about for yrs and cosmetics, yes probably more about being a collector. i have one and it's very very good.

Ive also picked up these and old ford bulletins, see attachment. Not sure these pop up on ebay a lot, but maybe.

No one source is going to satisfy you. It's a collection. But it's an addiction too.

fun to browse books too about how to chop/channel your car.... Then my favorites are the littlebooks. Hotrod, custom, popular mechanics etc.

Enjoy the hunt!

Thanks for the info, Tinker. A Hils book is coming, too. And the collection grows.
