I don't know anything about Powemaster I have a Whitney that I have been running now for 10 years. The i.d. may be larger must be some reason thy do not use the original case to house Kawasaki alternator.

I just went out and measured both an original '37 generator case and my Whitney '37 look alike. The original case is approximately 4 1/2 " outside diameter and the Whitney aluminum case is almost 3/8" diameter larger at 4 /15/16" diameter looks like they may take a cleanup cut on 5" diameter tubing. This is on a '37 and the way they did it about 2007 so may be different now or on your year.I just remember at the time I was told they cannot use the original case because alternator will not fit inside.

I just put a Powermaster in my truck. Their diameter is listed as 5.25" but it doesn't look odd and it fit very well. I had been running a 1 wire GM type alternator for the past 17 years and it finally quit so I though I would try something different.

We usually get generators taken care of at Walters on University Ave.

Been running a Powermaster on the pickup for about five years. Does the job and looks pretty original.
