Default FH. Main Oil line question

I am in the process of disassemble of my 59 AB.

I was about tho remove the main oil tube in the valley. The slowed screws , at both ends are very tight. Is I used the nut butter tool in my air rivet gun to attempt to loosed.
This resulted in the screws not moving, but I did loosen the tube, and it moved in about .250

Asked a local bud (Charlie ny) and he suggested to leave that tube alone.

Well, too late, I moved it some. Now I'm concerned about a miss alignment issue

Suggestions please.
tks gents

Hopelessly lost in the desert, a man wanders aimlessly in the heat of the noon day sun. He stumbles upon a wise man sitting in the shade of a palm tree, and asks directions. The wise man advises him to come under the palm and rest till dusk. The man respectfully declines, explaining that he is already late and cannot waste time resting just yet, thank you.

Not sure how the tube moved, if it rotated somewhat. Easy fix re drill the oil holes, B e cRFUL NOT TO DRILL THROUGH THE TUBE, BEEN THERE DONE THAT!!

The moral of the story is, if you’re not inclined to follow good advice, don’t bother to ask for more.

Probably best to push the tube back into place.

hard to tell without looking at it.

Normal advice is to leave it alone, but I have heard of them being removed. I think they are pressed in.

Good luck with it.

The tube is removable its only lightly pressed in it dose not screw in. If I read this correctly outsider 347 you pushed the tube in a 1/4 inch. Moving in that far the front and center oil hole alignment is now way off so the tube rally should be pulled back out to its original location. Its easy to move the oil tube.

Using patience first you need to measure the inside diameter of the tube. When you have the diameter look at what size machine thread tap can be used to put threads inside the open end of the tube.

Once you have the tube treaded inside all you need to do is use a slide hammer puller with the correct size thread on the end and slowly slide hammer the tube back in to its original location.

Its easy to determine where it belongs look up into the oil hole in the front main bearing web to see when the oil hole is lined up. Of course you will be looking threw the cam bearing bore holes as well to see the alignment.

Yes I have removed and reinstalled that main oil tube a few times even one rotted so bad from mouse droppings damage the tube had holes in the sides and top.

Excellent your going to be fine. Another interesting part of the Ford flathead engine which one day you may be able to help another flathead owner sort out who has a similar problem.
