Default Heater hose connection in head

Can anyone tell me the correct thread in the heater hose outlets in the heads of our beloved flatheads. I have some "threaded plugs" that look like they would be for this purpose, and I thought that was what they are for, but no such luck. I'm really skinning my ignorance here with a WAG. Half inch pipe thread?
