Default ’56 exterior trim removal

I have a pretty ratty ’56 Parklane wagon. I would like to remove the side trim to do some paint work. Is there a tool or technique I should know about. As old as I am, I’ve never done this before. Thanks, in advance, for any help you can give me.

Some of the trim might involve taking all the access panels off. Like door panels etc.
look up a trim tool kit on Amazon. You Might also benefit from a pick set too.
If you are not wanting to gouge certain area, you can always use layers of blue painters tape to protect the paint or the trim.

A lot of trim might have nuts on the ends and clips along the center.
Ford have a locking type clip that you can undo from the inside.

A shop manual and a copy of a parts book will answer a lot of questions.

Cool Re: ’56 exterior trim removal

A lot of trim on my '54 just kind of snaps on. You have to carefully pry it off. Use patience and work slowly. As stated, there are several different styles of moulding clips on early Fords. The ends usually have bolts or spring type clips and the center sections usually are snap on types.
