Default 40-41 rear pickup window gasket

Is there a preference with truck rear window gaskets? I have one from the mid 2000s from Drake that I have been trying to install my rear glass for almost 3 hours to no avail. It just seems the gasket is too big - you pickup guys - where to you get your rear window gasket from?

Thanks …..

Tom, I'd used a Carpenter gasket a few years ago when I'd restored my '40 pickup.

I also used a Carpenter kit in 2005 that included the rubber for both front windows and the rear window. C&G shows a rear window gasket on their website. It might be worthwhile to check with them and compare dimensions.

I don't know about over there but here in the UK it is possible to buy generic rubber seal by the length.

The one top right fits the rear windows. I also used it around the front windshield, retaining the special sections on the central part only.

I used a Drake gasket on my '41 pickup in 2015 and it fit fine. I used the existing glass that was in the pickup.

I also used Dennis Carpenter for front and rear glass, fit perfectly. Front was a pain and took LOTS of soap.

I did it in 2020 if I remember correctly.
