Default 1941 Ford P/U question

Dumb question time, the air deflectors on a '41 p/u (the ones to direct air into the radiator). Do the side ones bolt on the inside of the grille or in between the fender and the grille?

Pictures would be very helpful also.......

TIA.

They bolt between the inner fender panel and the grille.

Need to correct my original post. The air deflector does fit between the fender and the grille. Had a "senior" moment and forgot the inner fender panel fits inside the fender.

One way to keep the welting in place is to use the black weatherstrip glue and glue it to the grille. First clamp it to the grill, mark the holes , remove it and use a gasket punch to make the holes. Slit it every so often between the holes so it will make the curve of the grille. The slits will overlap themselves slightly as it makes the curve when gluing it down.

Originally the welt was stapled to the grille prior to assembly. If you look very close at the grille, there should be small holes where the welt was once held in place. This facilitated a quicker assembly process.

For us purists, the staples were round wire. Yes, I install them during my restorations
