'32 V8 cast aluminum oil pan
I have a late '32 V8 cast aluminum oil pan. Without the steel swash plates pan.
Help with dimensions or photos would be appreciated. |

Tom,
Yours has been trimmed at the front. Originally they extended forward another 2"-3" to rest on that raised tab shown in your photos with beveled corners to fit the contour of the inside of the pan. Sorry, I do not have a photo. |

Dave, Best pictures I have on file. That oil pan / oil tray is long gone. BTY isn't that an early version tray? I have another oil pan with tray, its remote, after your comments I should go take a look. Maybe take pics.

Re: '32 V8 cast aluminum oil pan
The oil pan and the tray in the photo are the garden variety representative of when the dipstick was relocated from the right side of the engine block to the left side of the oil pan and when a pickup tube was added to the oil pump.
The first version of the tray had no slot for the oil pump pickup tube because there was no pickup tube on the first version of the oil pump. The second version of the tray was for use with oil pans with the dipstick on the left side, but still had no slot for a oil pump pickup tube, only a small hole near the left center for the dipstick to pass through the tray. Both those two early versions of the trays are rare. |
