Default '28/9 AA fender braces?

I have several pairs of cast front fender braces for a '28/9 (and a stamped pair), and one set is considerably longer than the rest. Did the AA trucks take larger braces / fenders to accommodate the larger wheels? The ones in question are the cast type; just trying to figure what they belong to.

I suspect you have early 30 forged front fender brackets that is wider. One way to tell is 28/29 have a raised boss for the large bottom bolt that is larger than the 2 top bolt holes and early 30 brackets have all 3 holes the same size with equal shorter bosses. The black bracket in the pictures is a 28/29.

Not sure, but being as the AA's use the same fenders I would guess that they use the same braces. Could the longer ones possibly be 1930's? (check the thickness where the bottom bolt to frame goes - 28-29 are thicker here and 30's are not).

whoops, Rusty was quicker!!

Oddly enough, they both are the same thickness at the mounting point. I'll try to take some pic's and post them. also, the headlight bar mounting holes are further up towards the top of the fender than the "known" braces.

Clamped in a vise, it's obvious that there is a difference in size between the two. The black one is a known '28/9. Also, the mounting area is the same between the two.

The heavier ones look like early 30 braces. The lighter ones may be after market as the do not have the large bolt hole in the lower space.

To me the shorter bracket looks like a 28/29. I have seen one bracket for a 28/29 that had 3 short bosses like the early 30 have and like the longer one in your picture. This might be one like that. The longer one sure looks like an early 30 to me.
