Default Security error

I just received notice that the ford barn is operation with out a valid certificate. What ever that means, and had to over ride the error in order to get on the barn. Might be a bug in my computer, but I par 30 bucks a year to keep them out.. Sorry Ryan, but my computer wouldn't open the site. But I'm here anyway.

Same here, Ron. My browser is Mozilla Firefox and it warned me that the FB certificate had expired as of today.. I did the override just as you did....

Ignore it. Microsoft is trying to get you to join their security group.

No tune up in the world can fix microsoft...it´s going south fast...not aiming for stability just targeting potential customers for e-sale monitoring your interests and location.
A car powered by microsoft...every second redlight you have to roll down the windows reclose your trunk and restart...lol

My screen said there may be hackers here. So I just shut it down and went to bed. I'll use the report button.

I had a similar experience wit a pop-up supposedly from Microsoft telling me that my computer had a "Trojan Worm" virus and to call a toll free number to get it removed.
I contacted my Virus protection provider (PC Pitstop). Here is there lengthy response. I did as advised and the pop-up disappeared.

Thank you for contacting PC Pitstop Customer Service.

What you ran into during this incident is a new advertising tactic that malware/scareware authors are throwing out onto the internet.

The specifics of what you encountered are essentially an advertisement that has a rotating script built into it to keep it alive. (This is why it was so hard to get out of it)

The Edge browser in Windows 10 has become primary target.

If you have Windows 10 and the Edge Browser:

The good news is that nothing malicious is actually put on or running on the computer. It is not a virus or a Trojan, it is a scripted advertisement.

It's entire mission is to scare people into calling their phone number so that they can then frighten you out of your money by making you believe that you are infected and that they are there to rescue you for a price.

We are actively working with our developers to be the only ones out there to stop this pollution. It's tricky as they change their tactics all the time, but that is not stopping us from our pursuit.

In the meantime, especially if you are in the Edge browser and you encounter this scourge again, please run through the following exercise and you'll get rid of it quickly.

Click the link below to download and run the TSA adware removal tool.

http://www.adwareremovaltool.org

Click on Scan and when the scan finishes click on clean to remove any items found.

After the clean up click on reset browsers including Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox and any other browsers you have installed. This option in the TSA tool is visible when the scan and removal are complete.

Reboot the computer and run PC Matic again.
