Default 33/34 rumble seat clip

On the bottom of the floor pan there is a water dam. Attached to the water dam is a "S" shaped clip to hold down the bottom rumble seat spring frame. The top portion of the "S" clips the round rod of the spring. The lower portion of the "S" is very tight curve. The question is does the lower "S" clip onto the edge of the water dam lip OR is the bottom of "S" clip sit on top of the water dam lip and is spot welded? That is... if clipped onto the water dam lip means that no spot weld is required

Thank you

This is from a 34 Ruster and is definitely spot welded .
