When I painted my woody I went with a maroon that was M3059. That code goes from 68 into the 70's.

"American Automobile Paint Code Interchange Manual" shows the PPG code as:

PPG 50041

Thanks for the help; we had chased the numbers given...but they seem to be obsolete numbers. Does anyone have a Current Code for Dynamic Maroon?

I have the information you wish ,The formula is for PPG, paint and current ,I have my just finished 46 Ford woodie painted with it ,it"s a lovely colour It is the base /clear,solvent based system ,not the new water based material. Here in Canada everything is water base and only manufacters can still get the solvent base material.but like almost everything there is little holes ,one can work around. to still get the solvent base, the water base is good stuff but there is no formulas for it re, old colours..My grand son is coming for dinner tonight and he will know how to scan and post ,it along with a picture of my woodie but just in case here is my e/m you send me something and I can get back to you that way . [email protected] All for now Johnny.

I wanted paint to match the '40 horn button I added to my banjo wheel so I took the button to Napa and they found a close match. It's kind of a maroon/brown but I have no idea what the Ford color name for the color on the button is. So if you have a piece to bring in to a paint store they could probably come up with a match or custom mix something for you.
