Default Happy To Meet One of The Truly Good Guys in Our Hobby Recently

Hello Everyone,

As a long time forum member, I already knew Brent Terry's (BRENT in 10-uh-C) reputation, but had never me him until last week. He called me a couple of months ago concerning some transporting for his business & I could tell just by our phone conversations he was "as advertised"

I transported a Model A from Southern Arizona to his shop to be restored, but that was the week of The Chickasaw Swap Meet, since he was there I did not get to meet him when I delivered the car. He went out of his way by phone to make sure I would have an easy delivery. A couple of weeks later, at his request I showed up at his place to transport a fully restored Model A up to Northern Michigan for him. This time he was there, it was my pleasure to meet him. He again went out of his way for me, including having his son Blake gave me an extensive tour of the shop, offered me a personal vehicle to run over & see another high end business owner that I am friends with in the same town (Chip @ Tri-City Plating). He also offered his parking lot for my truck & trailer if I wanted to walk down to the river behind the shop & fish a bit. Unfortunately that weeks trip had me on a tight schedule, but those amazing offers were much appreciated! I look forward to the next time!

Nice to deal with other highly regarded businesses who are run by a Christian man who got his reputation (like my own) through Honesty, Quality Hard Work & Professionalism, not by self promotion or internet propaganda.

I continue to say we have the greatest folks in the world in our hobby!

The picture of the 29 A in the garage is taken after I drove it from the trailer & put it away for the customer. He asked me too & I did it. As a car guy who can drive any of them, I take pride in doing this for my customers

God Bless

I am sure the gentleman in Arizona will be pleased with the progress or maybe faint at the sight of his baby in a million pieces Brent!

I noticed in the 2nd picture you are tow strapping it around the lot, after hearing that critter knocking to get out of the engine, I would too!

God Bless
Bill

Well, while we're talking about the good guys in this hobby, let's not forget the original poster in this thread, Bill Squires. Bill transported a car across the country for me, and the interaction was totally a pleasure. My actual contact with Bill was brief, but throughout our email, texts, and telephone calls Bill was 100% professional and dependable. He did what he said he would do, when he said he would do it. He handled my car like the baby it is. He charged exactly what he quoted.

I hope I don't have to have a car transported again, but if I do, I will definitely give Bill a call.

Yes, he has definitely been that way with me also. I have known of Bill's name for quite awhile now but I am slow to change vendors when I am happy, -however when my previous transporter for whom I had used for nearly 9 years (Brandon Hoet) retired, I called Bill and asked to be put on his customer list. Like many others here, I have enough horror stories to share about my experiences with multicar transporters and brokers where it is worth any extra $$ just to have someone you know & trust take care of my needs.

I would like to echo what Bill said about Brent. Right after Covid there was a mix up on my treated gas tank and he personally delivered the correct gas tank to my office near Fort Benning. He also did an awesome job on the gas tank! He is a class act and a credit to the Model A Hobby.
Many thanks again, Brent,
Al Lugo

Thank you gentlemen for the kind words!

I am not sure if this happens to everyone who is blessed to have a business in the hobby they love, but for me when I meet another who knows just how blessed they are....I almost immediately know it. It just shows in their attitude, how they talk & it also shows in the pride of workmanship they have. It is not just a job, it truly is a way of life.

God Bless
Bill
