installing an 8ba into 36 coupe
Starting to plan installation of an 8ba into a 36 coupe. Looking for advise on what is required.

The things that make this a good swap are the new water pumps and the use of the SBC dist. Yhe dist will really waike these engines u[. The fan belt hits the old dist.

The basic swap itself is fairly straightforward using Ford/Merc parts, but understand, it's NOT similar to a '40, especially when it comes to FAN clearance. The '36 RADIATOR leans back into the engine compartment at a significant angle, whereas the '40 radiator is straight up and down.....'40s are easy. Who has successfully come-up with a mechanical fan on an 8BA in a '36 that actually WORKS, and how did ya do it? We're not talking electric fans, nor converting front of engine to 59-style set-up. DD

Thanks everyone for the information , lot of knowledge on this forum.
I did use the search function as I knew this question had been asked before , but as others have said nothing came up using the search function , I'll try it again. |
