Default The 52 Mercury Video

Yes, another one. I was trying out the new camera mount so thought the Mercury was a suitable subject. Hands free operation of the camera is great. I usually ridicule these "cold start" videos on youtube but now I've made one myself. Of course 40 degrees is hardly cold for Sask. but the engine had not run in a few days so I thought it qualified. Un-rehearsed but the old Merc came through and only a few turns of the starter had it running.

Thank you for appreciating the "patina". I know its not everybody's cup of tea but I happen to like that style. Plus it saves me the trouble and expense of a paint job :-) Steel wool, rubbing compound and turtle wax have brought out a bit of a shine even on the roof which is down to red primer. Almost every scratch and dent tells a story of our family history since 1959 when my dad bought the car.
The local Ford dealer told him he had made a mistake buying the car as nobody in the local shops knew how to work on automatics. Luckily the old Mercomatic never needed any maintenance.
