Weatherhead 1512 & oil filter
Located a Weatherhead 1512 fitting with the small restricter hole to use on my oil filter. What size tubing and fittings are used with the 1512? From the female end of fitting it looks like it requires a Ford fitting(feral & nut), but the line indentation in the fitting looks smaller than the drain line.
Do you think the fitting was mislabeled? Fitting was last one listed in NAPA warehouse in Atlanta. |

Re: Weatherhead 1512 & oil filter
I ordered a 1512 a couple weeks ago, and what came was NOT a 1512. It was correct in every respect except it did not have the restriction on the NPT end. Can you post a pic of the female end? It should be for a flare fitting, just like brake lines or fuel line.

Re: Weatherhead 1512 & oil filter
Might be easier to use the turbo fittings.

All of the fittings you listed have the .065 restriction but they all have 1/8 NPT female end. That is the same as the weatherhead 1512 that I have. I was under the assumption(my fault) that the 1512 had an inverted flare in the female end of fitting. Bought a 1/8 NPT male with inverted flare fitting that will screw into my 1512. This combination will give me .065 restriction at filter inlet and the inverted female end of combination for my oil line. Is this how Ford did it? |
