comparing a '32 heavy (car) axle to a BB (1 1/2 ton) axle
I have the chance to get a '32 heavy axle and I want to make sure it isn't the big truck axle. I need measurements to be sure.
Does anyone have the measurements/dimentions to tell the difference between the two? A picture of the two side by side would be a really big help. Thanks

Car spindle bushing ID is .813, BB is 1.005...axle hole would be close to that, so you should be able to tell the difference with a ruler!

One more thing Bruce. Are they close dimensionally, so much so, that you could be mistaken if you didn't have a car kingpin to test fit?

Re: comparing a '32 heavy (car) axle to a BB (1 1/2 ton) axle
I do not have any dimensions for width at holes except for passenger axles. The bulletins only give track, about 1 1/2" more than car, but that is measured I think at tire centers...front sheetmetal dimensions and hence general width are about the same, so axle dimensions probably are not very different. Just take along something that's an inch in diameter...it should go into a truck, be wildly hopeless on car.
