Radiator Repair
I am looking for a reliable radiator guy in southeast Connecticut to fix the radiator on our '39 coupe. The guy who ran Conn Auto Radiator here in New London has recently retired. (You have to love his business card saying: "The best place in New London to take a leak".) Any suggestions?

Re: Radiator Repair
Real radiator shops are getting hard to find. You might check with a big trucking company and see where they send theirs.

Re: Radiator Repair
Not from Conn., but Powell's Radiator Shop in Wilmington, OH does quality work. Specializes in antique vehicle radiators. He advertizes in Hemmings and others. Good luck, Pat

Re: Radiator Repair
Joe/Ct: on rte 6 E (towards providence) past Brooklyn Fairgrounds there's a radiator shop on the right. I haven't been that way in a few years and don't remember the name. Have you tried contacting the guy in New London for a recommendation??

Re: Radiator Repair
Try the Auto Radiator Hospital, 91 Connecticut Boulevard, East Hartford, CT.
Frank Proto is the owner and his number is 80. 569-4168. Did a great job on my '35 and '42 truck radiators. Quick turnaround. |

Re: Radiator Repair
Joe.
There is an old time shop in Preston, Joseph L. Caisse at 16 route 2. My cousin needed a quick repair on his A radiator last year. We got it fixed while we waited. The old man is a UFO and other conspiracy buff so be prepared to be entertained.

Re: Radiator Repair
Finding one that will actually "rod it out" is even more difficult. Most just boil them and do a half A flow test.

Re: Radiator Repair
Perraultr's is a good shop. They do gas tanks also. They're on West Main St., right near Hubbard park.
