Default AER Rod Bolts

Might be a long shot but I am trying to come up with a part number for the AER inserted rod bolts. Looks like an ARP bolt but haven’t been able to match it up. Rods are about 12 years old back when Rich was in Skokie. Can’t seem to get a hold of the new guys in Indiana. Just thought I would throw it out there see if anyone has dealt with this. Thank you.

As I recall that is a pretty short 3/8” bolt
Can you post a picture of one?

McMaster-Carr sells hi quality 12 pt bolts. Probably not ARP quality but ......

Looks like you should contact AER if you want the same exact thing. The shoulder aligns the rod and cap so...

You might call Snyders also.

6 radial lines means it is a grade 8 bolt. It would be difficult to machine, although not impossible. You may have to result to having the bolts made by a machine shop.

That is not going to be an ARP rod bolt
Your best bet is to try Snyders or Brattons if you cannot get ahold of AER
It doesn’t look too complicated to machine but it is not simple and getting a radius wrong could be disastrous

Glad to hear that they will sell replacement bolts. I have a set of those rods in my car and always wondered about sourcing new bolts if needed.

Spoke with Missy at Antique Engine Rebuilding in Bluffton Indiana on Thursday morning and have a set of rod bolts at my door Friday, in a blizzard no less. Great people to deal with and excellent service. Good company worth supporting.
