Default AER Connecting Rods

I have Antique Engine Rebuilding inserted connecting rods and was curious if anyone has experience with those as far as knowing the torque for the rod cap bolts. They use a special bolt that looks like some type of specialized ARP bolt. Rich has sold the company to group in Indiana and I was having trouble getting a hold of them. Just curious if someone might know. Thank you.

Do you think they need a special torque? I wouldn't know a reason why?

I would assume it would be different since it is a small reduced shaft size shouldered 12 point bolt. Way different than stock. I’ll keep trying to get a hold of the new owners next week. Appreciate the reply.

Most rods torqued on most engines I have worked on were about 30-35# new or old.

45 pounds is what I recall from the guide.

Snyders has forged rods and the bolt tork is stated as 20ft#
That sounds low to me, but I typically use stretch dimension not tork

35#ft is what Rich told me a number of years ago when i inquired about the torque of the connecting rod nuts.

I bet that is right. I think if I was worried about the rod nuts loosening I would use some LockTite instead of more force.

35lb ft is correct. I have used them for years in the engines I rebuild.
Good Day!

Wow, lots of great info. I really appreciate everyone’s time and input. Sounds like 35lb is what I’m looking for.
Thank you everyone, hope you all have a great upcoming Christmas and New Year.
