Default Running different fuel

Anyone else try to run your A from your own distillery instead of gas? Just was wondering since they are trying to do away with gas as we know it.

When I distill something, I drink it.

It will run on alcohol. The problem is going to be the potensity for the alcohol to absorb water and how that may lead to rust in your tank. I am not sure if something like Marvel Mystery Oil will dissolve in alcohol but if it does that may help. Caster oil will dissolve in alcohol. You will have to use larger jets or run with the GAV a lot more open. Each time you distill the alcohol it will be higher proof. The 3X you see on old whisky bottles means it was distilled 3 times, so very high proof. You can only get to about 95% because it will absorb water from the air.

It is very unlikely that gasoline will go away for a while. It may get really expensive. Engineers are coming up with ways to make artificial gasoline from carbon dioxide and water.

I run alcohol (methanol) in me Bonneville engine. It is like nkaminar says and is also quite corrosive, so you cannot leave it in the tank or carb for any length of time. It is also "corrosive" in the human body but fortunately it goes thru the system rather quickly.

Yep, getting pretty busy here. Been putting up shutters for a lot of folks. They're saying this might the worst storm to ever hit here. A couple folks have just dropped off some Scotch and Bourbon bottles.
