Default '29 Standard Roaster Headlight question

Just bought a '29 Standard Roadster. Nice little car but was neglected. Many little problems. One thing I noticed was the headlights have an on/off/horn on steering wheel. That of course is normal except the switch just has no low beam. Just one setting. Is this normal or should it have two clicks for high and low beam, and an opposite turn for parking lights? Should the headlights have two bulbs for parking lights? I had a standard '30 for many years. That's how it was set up.

Thanks!

You have an early 1928 light switch. Also, 1928 thru February 1929 have a two position headlamp switch which is different than the later '29's thru 1931 which have either a two bulb system or a single bulb with cowl lamps.

I own a February 1929 Roadster that has the earlier switch with with fluted headlamp lenses and a drum type tail lamp.Check your steering column. The whole column may of the of the earlier type.

Google the MAFCA wiring pdf for good info. There were different design switches but all had high and low beam. Park lights were added later with the Two-Lite headlamp assemblies. A 29 should have those type headlights.

Hello, one possibility could be car has wrong year on title, depending on the state , sometimes cars were titled the year they were first sold, I seen a 1940 Pontiac titled as a 1939 , also a 1929 Model A titled as a 1930 , this was Pennsylvania and these cars were original or low ownership cars. Perhaps closer inspection of the car will determine the year build. Nice find by the way !!
