Default Can't find a replacement single contact socket for 26 tail light.

Hello. I recently bought a 26/27 tail light off a guy and I want to get a new socket for it. However, I cant find any single contact replacements. The ones on Lang's and Snyder's are all double contact. The attached pictures are the socket that was in the tail light when I bought it. I'm looking for one that has the socket on both sides, one for the bulb and one for a plug, as it is my understanding that that was how they originally were. Thanks in advance.

No, they were not an original double socket - the photo is of an original Ford part - that small square in the rear is spring loaded and the wiring "bullet" terminal just pushes in.

Oh, ok. I'm going to have to find a new bullet end for my tail light wire then. Because I had to snip the one that was on there off for the tail light that's currently on the car when I redid all the wiring.

Also, you say it's spring loaded. Mine won't move. how would you recommend getting it unstuck?

Edit: Apparently Lang's has a bullet end for the wire.

It may be corroded. Try a good penetrating fluid. Hopefully the spring is still functional.

If all else fails, and the socket is not useable, get the double filament socket and only wire one side of it. Then use either an 1157 bulb for 12 volts or an 1154 bulb for 6 volts.

I wonder if you could modify or use some of the internal parts from something like a T-Bird backup lamp socket. These are available from several places, here's one https://www.classictbird.com/Socket-...ctinfo/13411A/
