1938 one ton front brake drum
Does anyone out there know where I can find a front brake drum for a 1938 Ford one ton (122" WB) truck? It is a 12" drum with a 3 1/4" center, 3/4" studs, on 7" bolt pattern and inside the drum hub mount.

Re: 1938 one ton front brake drum
It may have fit a range of years that use the same rear axle. Timken Detroit made a lot of axles for Ford trucks. South Side Obsolete might be able to help. Front axles may also have a range in years that used the same drums but I'll have to check my books. These parts are depleting since no company reproduces them. At some point, a conversion may be in order but then a person will be looking for non-widow maker wheels.
Checked the books and no luck on different models. The 122" 1-ton used the 82Y-1102 front hub & drum on the right side and the 82Y-1103 front hub & drum on the left side in the years 1938 thru 1940. The rear 82Y-1113 rear hub & drum assemblies are interchangeable for both sides but they are a one year only part for 1938. Last edited by rotorwrench; 11-08-2023 at 12:34 PM. |
