Default 1940 interior door handles replacement

I have a 40 ford deluxe van. The interior door handles need replaced. Problem is it looks like there is more than one pin going through. I thought there would be the spring but it is pins. Do they hammer out or how do you get them out.

The excursion holds the pin in just push it back to reveal the pin and it should push out very easily only one pin per handle

Coop, you're a lifesaver.

We sure wouldn't have been able to figure out that puzzler out without your expertise!

What, oh, what would we ever do without you?

Never was known to be a good speller but worked upholstery and glass for 20 years and didn’t have all the special tools they have now

You're in over your head, Alan. "Excursion" is spelled most-correctly. Only problem is that it's the WRONG WORD to describe the part. About as inaccurate as referring to your avatar as a 6-cylinder Chevy phaeton.....get it?

My original attempt was to help anyone who might care to understand the correct term. As succinctly as possible, I kept my reply to one word, hoping not to draw any unnecessary or negative attention. You blew that idea out of the water. DD

Hey ...I'm GOOD with that, and hope we've returned to our normally-scheduled programming. And I'm sorry that I made reference to your Ford as a lowly 6-cylinder Chevy. The Coop

Just one more detail... I'd like to confirm that you know the difference between a Convertible Coupe and a Phaeton?
