Starter Drive
Just received a new starter I ordered from the early ford store and it has the "new and improved" Bendix on it. Are they any good?? Should I order an OEM style Bendix or is this new one OK?

Re: Starter Drive
are you talking about the rubber Bendix? I have a 51 merc in my truck, had to grind out the bell housing to get it past the flywheel, seems to work ok--been in there for 3 years. Had another one in a 59AB engine, just would not work, would hang up even in a new ring gear--ended up putting the old reliable spring type Bendix in the 59ab and it works perfect!! just my experiences

Re: Starter Drive
This is the original type starter drive. Ours is made in the USA. You'll need a fresh woodruff key. We stock 'em.
