I have removed all my interior door trim to replace a cracked door glass. Is there a procedure published by Ford to properly remove and replace the glass, or can anyone provide insight or instructions to complete the job? It doesn't look too complicated, but always good to know any tips or tricks to get it reinstalled and properly adjusted. I have a replacement window on the way and know I need to get some glass setting tape (not sure what thickness to get).

You won’t know thickness till you get your new glass. The setting tape comes in different thickness. You buy it at an upholstery supply. You can gently pinch the lower glass together if it’s a lot wider. I’d buy the thicker and equal thin of the tape. Not pricey.

I am replacing the glass in my '36 3W now, using a write-up I got several years ago. Unfortunately, I don't recall where I got it from, but fortunately, I would be happy to either copy it and mail it or scan it and email it to you.

I can also give you a few tips I learned while doing mine, which I would be happy to share.Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you a copy.

There is a good video on You Tube, The vehicle is a 38 pickup, but the assembly and process is the same for a 36 car. Jus google, :How to replace the door glass on a 1938 Ford pickup". It the one with the white pickup.

The 37 pickup is close, and very, very helpful. Thanks for sharing! However, there's a slight difference to my '36, or I am just not seeing the video detail the right way. To get the regulator to rotate past its normal range so that the window/channel assy can be removed, there is a small stop bolt that screws into the regulator "gear". Once I removed it, the mechanism rotated high enough to disengage the guides from the track. Waiting on new glass.
