Ecklers
For anyone waiting for a credit from Ecklers there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I too had been waiting to receive a credit on my credit card for an order never received that I finally canceled. After more than two months of waiting with no credit i finally called my card company and was told the credit was received yesterday. I have no further info about what is going on with Ecklers but I, for one, won't be placing any more orders with them. |

Re: Ecklers
Everybody just needs to use other part sources than Ecklers. Then maybe they will just disappear.

Re: Ecklers
From the information I have gathered, Ecklers was bought by Turn5 Productions. Turn5 has ZERO interest in 1928-1953 Fords. NONE. They are an ecommerce business solely interested in Bronco, Mustang and F100, modified and lifted vehicles.
Go to any internet automotive auction house or watch the cable automotive shows and the media is focused on this F100/Bronco craze. Have you ever seen a TV show about a couple of guys working on a Model A or V8 Ford? Turn5 hopes that we disappear as much as we wish they would. [QUOTE=Lanny;2184938]Jeff, do you remember the VEGA ?
On a quite night, you could hear them rust. I worked with a man that had a Vega, and he said when he went over bumps, he could see the rear window go up and down in his rear view mirror. The floor pan had seperated from the body from rust. Sal |

Re: Ecklers
Seth,
You are looking in the wrong places as there are restoration videos for Ts, As, early V8s, and even an incredibly rare 1904 Model B, which is likely only one of three in existence, on YouTube. |

Re: Ecklers
speaking of POS cars; my neighbor bought an olds diesel wagon, 1 year later, the dealer wouldn't take it on trade. my dad had a c10 with the same 350-based diesel, 3 engines later we converted it to gas. lol

Re: Ecklers
So sad to see the business that Doug McKenzie built, go to a sad ending. I remember driving up to Lockport from Rochester in the early '80's and getting my Model A parts from him. Nice guy and gave novice me a lot of help.

Re: Ecklers
Agree with you TagMan! Mac's in Lockport was a "go to" source for me when I started restoring my '39 Fordor in 1996. It was a slow and painful death and we watched it play out here on the Barn. Hopefully, Doug McKenzie did okay on the transaction.

Re: Ecklers
I was about 75 minutes from them when they were in Lockport. I enjoyed going there often for parts for my vintage Fords. Those days are long gone, and it appears that the company that Ecklers acuired some years ago is gone too. Sad. - F F

Re: Ecklers
I couldn’t believe a first generation Bronco “roadster” with no top or doors sold at Mecum Kissimmee for $57,000! Just don’t get the fascination. There’s a shop in my town that does nothing but buy junk Broncos, restoring and flipping them.

Re: Ecklers
Too bad Macs went down the tubes. Used to get stuff there than no one else carried such as brake shoes, hardware, king pins, wheel cylinders and front drums for a '56 F-350 I had at the time.

Re: Ecklers
It will die off just like the woodie market has done. Just a passing fad until reality hits home. Many speculators will be left holding the bag.

Re: Ecklers
I worked as a Parts Mgr. in the local Ford dealership in the mid 70's. Those first generation Broncos were still being sold.
I'm a die hard fan of the Blue Oval, but I wouldn't want one of those POS as a gift. They were JUNK back then, worst car Ford ever put on the street. They rotted out within the first three years, I mean ROTTED there was nothing left of them. Biggest pile of junk on the road. |
