Re: Emulsion Tube Removal
I run a small tap down inside and use a piece of welding rod to tap them out. I forget what sized tap. Sorry

Re: Emulsion Tube Removal
I remove those tubes by running a tap into them and then with the tap still in the tube I hold the tap in the jaws of the bench vise and then gently tap the Stromberg carb body with a soft hammer those tubes always come out doing it this way. Removed many of them when converting to alky for one of the race cars i always had to open up the dump tubes to really big sizes for more speed and power good times for sure..

Re: Emulsion Tube Removal
Somebody is selling a tool kit to remove them on eBay. I don't have any info on how well it works?

Re: Emulsion Tube Removal
Does anybody know if tapping threads in the tube will change its flow characteristics?
I've removed tubes before, but only to replace them with new ones. Was wondering if the old ones with the threads were ruined. |

Re: Emulsion Tube Removal
Flathead Fever: I decided to try out one of those kits you suggested. Looks like that is the method suggested by Quickchange34. Thanks, Mike

Re: Emulsion Tube Removal
That kit looks just like what has been described above. If you have an 8-32 tap and handle, a $1.50 for a screw, my, and washers would be cheaper. I've used the tap/machine screw method before several times. Works great.

Re: Emulsion Tube Removal
Oops. Been awhile since I've dug my little puller out. Thanks for correction.

Re: Emulsion Tube Removal
Max, thanks for clarifying tap size.
I think it was nearly 15 years ago that you shared your method for pulling emulsion tubes and a few of your other secret weapons for rebuilding Stromberg carburetors with us Fordbarners.
