I am in the same boat with my 1934 5 Window coupe getting the cowl vent reassembled with the screen in place.

Does anyone have a diagram of correct assembly for the 34.

OK... I'll 'bite... Is the 34 supposed to have a vent screen?
As for assembly, do you want a pict ? 'Course my pic would not have a vent screen.

Most if not all of 34's had screen. 33 did not as I understand it.

That sheds a little light on my heap... My 'so-called' 34 is really a 'mixture'. Some features on it are definitely 34, and many body features are 33. Add one more... no vent screen = 33. Lawson, Thanks.

Very early 34's did not have a vent screen. I have one of the early 34's.

I think it may depend on who built the body. My 34 phaeton is a May car , but has smooth rear inner fender panels[not crowsfoot] and a 33 type vent.

Didn't the early '34s have the inside door handle at the front of the door and later '34s have it in the middle? My '34 has it up front and has no vent screen.

Heres some shots As far as I can see the screen is Bronzed to the drain channel on the top side at the front only as the vent lid has to move past it ,Early 34s had the door handles at the front

You need the vent door to match the screen. There were 2 one with a screen and the other without which has curves that interfere with the screen.

Thanks guys, the screen I have is straight on the back side and didn't seem to want to work correctly. I guess my car needs the one with the curve in the back. Who knew that on model could have so many variations! Thanks to all who responded.

There are no screens with a curve in the back. Those cars had no screen.
