`35 Cabriolet Windshield Frame
Does any vendor stock chrome plated windshield frames for a`35 cabriolet other than Bob Drake? He has a 6-8 week backorder on them.

Re: `35 Cabriolet Windshield Frame
Most cabriolet windshield frames are made by trautwein products. They are hand made parts with very good chrome. Because of limited demand these have turned into custom made parts so not always available instantly. When they are in stock they are scooped up and we have to await reorder like everyone else. The best thing to do is keep your name on someones waiting list and you will get a frame.

Re: `35 Cabriolet Windshield Frame
Word of caution on these repro frames regardless of where you are getting them.....make sure the frame fits properly in the surrounding opening in your car before you install glass and try to install the assembly in your car. I have recently talked to two people who have bought repro frames for their cabriolet restorations and the final assembled frame will not fit properly.

I haved heard that the Trautwein frames are very good. I would get on their list. I would take, to heart, the tip that JM 35 Sedan gave. It sounds very reasonable. MIKE (mikeburch) |

Re: `35 Cabriolet Windshield Frame
I got mine through Macs, fitted well but had to drill hole for wiper shaft, not something I enjoyed, having to drill through fresh chrome!
Not sure why they would be made without a hole in the first place? |

Re: `35 Cabriolet Windshield Frame
Station wagon uses the same windshield frame, but without the hole. The wiper shaft on a station wagon goes through above the windshield frame.
