Model A books on Model A history
I recall, not too long ago, on this forum about 4 suggestions for books on the Model A, with 2 of them being outstanding.
Sorry for asking for repetition on what has been already posted here, but I didn't write down the titles of these books when I was reading the post. (I was at work. In fact, I'm a skilled tradesman at the Ford Rouge Complex. Dearborn Stamping Plant. Where the Model A was born, I believe...) Anyway, any help on these books would be appreciated. Thanks, folks! |

Re: Model A books on Model A history
I would recomend the following:
"The Model A Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards" "The Ford Model A as Henry built it" by George Deangelis, Ed Francis, Les Henry "Model A Ford Trouble shooting and Diagnostics" by Les Andrews. He also has two other volumes but I use this one the most. There are several more but I would start with these! All three can be purchased at the Model A Restorers Club on Merriman Road in Garden City, MI. 734-427-9050 Ken |

Re: Model A books on Model A history
There is one more I would addd to the list:
Especially if you are looking for the HISTORY of the A, The Legendary Model A Ford by Peter Winnewisser Peter does a wonderful job of giving the development and on going history during the era. Good reading for all history buffs. Not necessarily a how to or judging book but a history of the development and production. Ken |

Re: Model A books on Model A history
In regards to "The Ford Model A as Henry Built It", I see that it is back in print after being unavailable for quite some time. Does anyone know if the currently available edition is an exact copy of the earlier edition, or has new information been added?
For those who have never seen a copy, this is an outstanding book! Deron |

Re: Model A books on Model A history
Thanks to the Ford Barn I'm getting back into Model A's, and treated myself to a new book at Hershey. James Thomas was selling his "Advertising the Model A Ford" a collection of every ad published in magazines during the 1928-1931 production of the Model A, if you want to read about A history I think this should be on your bookshelf.

Re: Model A books on Model A history
Model A Service Manual and Owners Handbook by Clymer publications 1961. My son-in-law has one but won't part with it and I can't beg borrow or steal one anywhere. Has this tome been reprinted by anyone for a reasonable price?
