What about Canadian Engine color?
Anyone have a color mix recipe for that??

Thnx

I didn't know the Canadian colour was different (just the spelling of "colour"). Great question as i am working on a Canadian DD and, even though it is a retomod with a different engine, I would like to use the correct engine colour.

I researched the colours last spring and came up with two paint codes from MAFC website, they were DS 135 and DS 127, I ended up going with the 127 and this is how it turned out

And here's the paint code

And for comparison

I've posted this before and some folks think the colours correct but a bit "glossy" , I talked with some T folks, and they said the Canadian T's had a more gray/green paint on the engine, but I can't confirm or deny that. Hope it helps

As another Canadian, I too spell it; colour.... As taught in our school system. Please note that I started out in a one room school house. This was just before we were transported by bus to a central schooling system. Jeff

Thanks Pinesdune. I like that colour. I see that this was made up just a year ago so is it waterbourne?. If so, do you know how it will stand up as an engine paint?.

Yes I believe so, but I had the car painted so I didn't spray it. So far I've put 300 miles on her and the paint doesn't show any discolouration or peeling issues/cracking.

Mike V 's combination is very - very close 2 parts Rustoleun Forest Green, 1 part flag blue, 1 part black. I bough quarts of each and mix a baby food jar at the time. Keep it sealed - tight. kenb
Thanks Ken for that info:::

Is that color close? I like to use the POR 15 enamel and this to me loss to be the closest shade.

The problem with home made is it looks homemade. A spray can of engine paint is $6.95 at Snyders or $15.95 a pint can. I can't believe most people can't afford this. Wayne
synders can and spray do not match, same manufacturer, but different colors. I learned the hard way

Painted with paint from Snyders in the pint can. I don't know how accurate it is from a historical perspective but think it looks great.

careful about spray cans too - snyders VS someone else I got a can from did not match at all - Snyder looks more correct - the other guys was dark. Other guys i THINK i got from one of the mobile vendors that shows up to major swap meets - Snyders has the white label with green lettering can, other guys was shiny red orange colors on the label.

That Buick green looks a little lighter doesn't it? I have a hard time seeing some shades, so this is tricky for me.

I'd like to try my 48 H.P. diesel Rabbit engine in a Model A. It should get pretty good fuel economy.

No....too vague. To win you would have had to post that it is a 1983 2.4L Mercedes 4 cyl diesel LOL.
