Re: Used new rust product
Where did you get it from? Is there a brand name? I just got a 50 F4, and could sure use something.

Re: Used new rust product
Phosphoric etch and prep. Home depot 15.00 a gallon. Used about 8 ounces on the hood. Let it sit over night and just washed it off next morning. Was real good and prime or spray some on a towl and wipe on so it won't flash rust. Used a dollar spray bottle from home depot.

This stuff is great for cast iron exhaust manifolds & the like .soak them for a day or two in a heavier concentrate. Goes kind of black looking until you pressure blast off with water, Dry em fast with compressed air afterwards then coat with spray wd40 or similar , should Look like new cast iron afterwards. Alloy parts should not be left too long as they will be eaten away to nothing. |

Re: Used new rust product
Keep in mind, the stuff needs to stay wet to work. For long periods of derusting you need to place some cloth on the area and keep it saturated.
