Default Rebuilding Zenith Carburators

Over the last 10, or so years I have rebuilt at least 50 zenith carburetors. I started out with a couple of plastic 5 gallon buckets of cores I got in a trade of parts. I started out by taking each core apart, and disassembled. I used lacquer thinner, then Rust Sol to start the cleaning process.

I then used the Judging standards, and a series in the Restorer to ID each carburetor, matching up tops to bottom castings and mixed Holley, and Zenith as needed.

I cleaned each circuit, even removed the brass plugs to eliminate plug ups.
So far, I haven't needed to rebush a throttle shaft, or reseat the GAV.

I test ran quite a few on my car in order preset the idle, now I just preset the idle

Here are the before and after pictures of my most recent rebuilds.

I made a youtube video about dissasembling the carbuerator

He does really nice work. I have his carburetors on my model a’s. No problems with them they start right up. I highly recommend him.

I am new to model As and my introduction is through a pretty much basket case AA that probably should have been a parts truck but my ignorance has gotten me in too deep to turn back now. I have completely rebuilt everything mechanical on chassis and still waiting on machine work on block to complete. Truck came with a Tillotson carb in pretty good shape but I wanted a Zenith. I finally got it done but it was a learning experience. I flow tested all jets and set float and leak tested. May be a while before I can run test.

I can fix the appearance too. A Matt finish would do it.
