Default Attention 190A Victoria Owners

Hi all,

I maintain a list of surviving 190A Victorias for the International Victoria Association. To date, the list has 634 Victorias, but there are many more on the planet that need to be recorded. The list is the intellectual property of the Victoria Association, and it describes each cars features.

If you have not joined the Association, I urge you to do so. Its dues are very inexpensive and you get a periodic newsletter, The Bustle. The data for the list of survivors is normally taken from Association membership applications, but if you send me some exterior and interior photos of your 190A plus its Murray Body Number if known, and its engine / frame number, I will list it. My email is [email protected]

Oh by the way, if you join the Association and your 190A is missing its Murray Body Number, one can be assigned on the basis of your cars features and how it fits into the existing list. Join by contacting President Bill Cilker at [email protected].

I'm not sure if I'm on your list but I have one. A late '31 steel back Victoria.

Seth
You are on the Victoria Association's list of Survivors.

The Association is looking for unrestored Victorias with original interior or parts of the original interior. We are trying to establish a time line for the changes to the Victoria interior during its production. The picture is of the interior of my May, 1931 Steel back. It is the same interior that was used in the late (3 to 4/31) Leather back Victorias.

JW,
Thanks for posting the numbers of the 190As you parted-out. I put both of your parted-out body numbers in the list of survivors to indicate these numbers are not available for assignment to other 190As. As you likely know, assignment of Murray Body numbers to cars missing theirs is a benefit of being a Victoria Association member. Such numbers are assigned on the basis of body type, features of the cars and a reasonable fit into the list of survivors.

I finally joined after years of using for answers. I will have questions for other threads.

I have a leatherback that was in pieces for at least 20 years. Wood out (was saved and have it) but wood in very poor condition. No interior. Frame supposedly was the original frame, but could find no numbers.

Any other way to ID to submit to the registry, if nothing else to give a rough estimate on where in the body sequence?

Thanks.

Update - I found my body tag in a box. Murray #10621 Leatherback with a flat firewall. At least I have something to provide to The Victoria Organization for my registration.

Wow, no door pockets?

Door Pockets. The Indianapolis Branch Service Letter of March 13, 1931 to its dealer’s states that the “set-in” style door pocket was removed from the RH and LH door trim, and a "patch-pocket" was put into the LH door only of the Victoria. Sketches of the door pockets are in the Model A Ford Judging Standards & Restoration Guidelines. In the Indianapolis Service Letter of 5-26-31, a redundant message appears indicating that the LH door only has a "patch-pocket."
