Re: Insurance
I used to have Farmers, until they wouldn’t insure my old cars. Just about that time Grundy started insuring daily drivers, so I moved all of my cars to Grundy; which gave me better coverage for less money.

Re: Insurance
My Farmers agent told me they use Grundy or someone else.
they are not really in the antique car mkt. they just add a profit to their bottom line. |

Re: Insurance
When I purchased my XLR-V this past summer, I was all set to call Haggarty, Grundy, American, etc to see about agreed value. Just for the heck of it, I called my State Farm agent with whom I have many normal or liability cars covered by. They gave me $40k agreed value for $500.00 per year. No restrictions, but I did tell them it would not be driven more than probably 1000 miles per year. I am not home very much & have 6 others, so I doubt it will get that many.

There are advantages to having all your insurance with the same company and with an agent that you know and trust. If cost is a factor, however, you should give Grundy and/or Hagerty a call to get a quote. My guess is that $40k worth will be less than half of what you are paying SF.

This summer I will be adding a couple of the other ones to the "Agreed Value" category as they will be done by then & I will check with them. Never against getting a good deal, but at the time I purchased it I was in a big hurry. God Bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...closed.614419/

Re: Insurance
This is what my local agent that does all of my business and personal stuff did with me years ago when I had about 2 dozen antique motorcycles. They wrote the policy for me through jc taylor. With my car now I just went straight to the source with grundy.

The insurance company that they use, wanted pictures of the car, size of the engine and a list of all modifications (suspension and engine) that the car had. I didn't have to go through any of that when I went through Grundy's. |

Interesting, when I looked at Grundy in 2011, they sent me forms requesting all that type of info, and is why I went with Hagerty. |

Re: Insurance
I've had both Grundy and Hagerty, never had a claim, but was satisfied with both just the same.
Currently all the cars are on Hagerty. You get a price break for insuring several cars. Plus Hagerty has a real nice monthly magazine about the hobby, glossy paper loaded with color pictures about a hundred pages long as I recall, all different makes of antique and collector cars, editorials by Jay Leno, Wayne Carini, etc. on the outlook of the hobby. I enjoy getting that Super easy to deal with you can do a live chat (works best for me my hearing is shot) or call them and get good results. Right now! |

same here. why I chose JC Taylor- they require almost nothing. no mileage logs just say it is garaged and send a photo- done. |
