Default four door door latch spring

I have a door latch on my town sedan that the spring broke. It's one with the diamond emblem not Swiss. I have new spring but cannot for the life of me get it in behind the plunger. Has any one repaired one like this? It appears the spring won't go in behind the plunger to me. Click below hope you can open it

I can’t open that site.
But is your fordor straight or slant?
As bad as it seems some have to be disassembled to replace.

Mine is straight windshield. I took one out left rear and it had a star on it so I ordered the spring set from Snyders for that latch. The one heavy Plunger spring fit but I had to drill the rivet out to replace it. The rivet that was sent was too big for the slot it worked in so I had to machine one. I have it back in and it's working fine but the other springs are noway near the ones in the inside latch part. very disappointed for $ 64 plus shipping.
