41 Coupe front end alignment?
Can I use these specs from an old Motors manual or is there something better that was published.

It doesn't show the range that FoMoCo had but it gets it in the ball park. It should work fine with those settings.

Kind'a curious as to what you will do if the caster or camber, or if the kingpin inclination doesn't meet the spec. DD |

Re: 41 Coupe front end alignment?
If a spindle took a hard enough hit to change the KPI it is a throw away, there is no saving it.

Re: 41 Coupe front end alignment?
There are other reasons you might have them checked and maybe adjusted. A dropped axle for example.

Re: 41 Coupe front end alignment?
KPI is the relationship of the k/p to the stub axle, the angle of the k/p holes in the axle is a different thing. True, the axle would be bent to correct camber but if a spindle was hit hard enough to change the KPI I would not trust it.

Re: 41 Coupe front end alignment?
Just took mine out for a run, set toe in at 1/32" and she does fine, Aired all tires to 32#, wind bothered me some going south, but going north got up to 85 no shimmy or wind problems. I wan't to thank all of you that helped with my problem, now to get on to some more. Al

I believe "weight on wheels" is the proper method. At least, that's the way
I do my 40. I use 1/16". |

Re: 41 Coupe front end alignment?
Had the tires off the slab to adjust, so tires could move easier, set toe in and lowered to slab. Checked and was same setting as when raised. Rolling car back and forth didn't change anything so I think everything is good and tight. Changing back to bushing's in kingpins instead of needle bearings may have helped some but I can't say for sure, did make it steer a bit harder but not a problem. Al
