8RT vs Early 24-stud Length
How close in length is a late 24-stud with 8RT water pumps and transmission bellhousing to an early 24-stud from the transmission mating surface to the mounting holes on the water pumps?
I don't have all the parts necessary to measure it on my own, and haven't been able to piece it together from internet searches.

I don't know what the dimension is, but as stated it is the same. The only difference would be that the water pump pulleys will sit further forward with the 8BA motor.

The spacing issues have more to do with the cooling fan structure on the front of the engine….the front edge of the 49-53 fan blade is going to be situated closer to the radiator than the various earlier types of fans. This is generally the build problem with any Model A V8 and even the 32-38 Ford cars that the owner wants to use the late flathead in. There are work-arounds but modifications and compromises are required.

How about the width between the two water pump mounting points? I forgot to ask about that. I was aware of the additional length due to the pulleys on the later engines. My thoughts are to go to a 59A in a car that's currently set up for an 8RT, specifically because of the shallower belt/fan depth of the earlier engine. Length being the same helps avoid needing to reposition (or modify) the engine mounts on the frame.

It makes a difference whether the car is 1940 and earlier or '41-'48. The later cars have the mounting points higher relative to the frame than the pre-'41's.

When using a late flatty in an older chasse. I like to use an electric fan. Much easies on the brain. Also a single belt generator, Altinator drive. Makes life much easier, and the ngine even looks better,

The chassis has mounts set up for the 8RT. I suppose the flanges on the earlier pumps being lower wouldn't be the end of the world in this case as the transmission is a T5 and not a stock mount type. Might be enough to cause a firewall clearance issue, though, due to the tilt that would be induced.
