cabriolet side mirrors '33&'34?

'33&'34 cabriolet side mirrors . I've never seen one mounted.

How, if at all, are they mounted?

FoMoCo must have had an answer back then, if in fact they were absolutely necessary;i.e., one-lane paved roads common. But there were two-lane roads as well. Maybe more driver courtesy then ;i.e., no speeding past you & cutting in!?
