Interesting. So the engine rests on the pan bolt heads? Is it tall enough to have the fly housing bolted on?

Yes, the fly wheel can be attached. Pan attached to block. Regular metal rails are easier to drill a couple of holes for the pan bolts. I used some bed frames and they eat drills.

This was originally for complete rebuilds. Don't see why longer legs are a problem, but a little more stable as shown.

Bed rails are extremely hard. They eat sawzall blades as well. Need a metal cut off wheel.

I am going to modify the stand so it can be shipped flat, and bolted together. A cottage industry in the making.
