1930/1931 Factory Radiator vs. Repop Identification
I recently acquired a decent used radiator for my late '30 pickup.
It has the dimpled front fins and the slightly angled cooling tubes, as used with the originals, but also as used on the Brassworks 'Show' model. http://www.thebrassworks.net/shop/Re...1ee1304728ac7f At sometime in the past the radiator appears to have fallen backwards which caused significant damage to the inlet tube. There is very little bending of the top tank itself. If this is a factory-issued radiator it would certainly be worth trying to repair it. How can I tell if it's an original? |

I'm not an expert on radiators but my advise is to take it to a good radiator shop along with some pictures of an original 30-31 radiator.

it is an original. how many rows of tube are there, it look like it could be for a AA before you get to carried away on fix it have it check out for leaks. a lot of them look good on the out side and leak like a sprinkler.

Is the old brass tag original, or is it from a repair shop? Believe it or not, I bought this radiator and an original 1928 Chevy radiator only about two miles from my house. $10 for both. LOL, its good to be lucky once in a while. |
