Default HELP ME: Vent window seal installation

Hey guys, I was trying to figure out how the seals that go on the window surrounds install and THINK I know what I should do, but want to make sure first. The vents hinge gets riveted to the frame and it would seem that the only way to get the seal to sit properly would be to split it and push it over the hinge before attaching the hinge to the frame, then installing the seal afterwards:

I'm thinking I should slit it in the flattened area before pushing it over the vent hinge, then riveting. Once vent is affixed to frame, seat rubber seal in its channel. Of course this would all have to wait until everything is final-painted....

Any help = APPRECIATION!!

Remove the pivot rivet. Install the bracket to the molding. Install the window with frame to the molding through the rubber and then rivet the pivot point together. I've done a lot of these....

THANKS Kube - that sounds easy. Now for the details - are you saying to slice the rubber to get it over the pivot bracket after it's riveted to the frame?

EDIT - in looking at it more it looks like the seal may go AROUND the hinge piece once it's riveted to frame...no slicing.
